What types of skills do learners need to know now for the workforce that aren’t supported by the current system? 

  • Trying to prepare students for jobs that don’t currently exist is foolish. If we can make them excited about learning and following their passions they will have a better chance finding work when they need to. We need lessons that push students to solve open-ended problems, think critically, which includes challenging authority, and to communicate better. There are six communication skills that matter. They are: listening, public speaking, reading and analyzing what your read, writing persuasively and creatively, and being able to understand the body language of others and control your own.
