Leading School Change: 9 Strategies to Bring Everybody on Board

Introduction

  • Change is inevitable, growth is optional. In our rapidly changing world, each of us has to chose growth, personally and for our organizations. It is important to develop an understanding of the dynamics of change, set realistic goals, plan well, and track progress. Along the way you will have to take advantage of your supporters and deal with those who resist. Your perpetual enemy will be some guy named Status Quo. While Todd’s nine strategies are numbered 1 through 9, you need not apply them in order and some will be easier than others. As you apply the steps, you should reflect on why some previous attempts at change fizzled out. With new strategies, you may even want to revisit old problems. It may also take more than one effort to find success, even with Todd’s advice.
