How to Teach Your Child Respect at an Early Age

Parental Actions

  • Children learn by example. When a parent shows specific actions in front of their children, children try to mimic this behavior. When parents are cooperative and friendly, children want to be cooperative and friendly. Be more conscious of being gentle when you are in the presence of your children. Restrain from using any type of physical discipline such as spanking. Children will learn that it’s never right to treat others using physical force. When your children are in your presence, don’t yell and scream. They will learn to do these same things.
