Improving Your School One Week at a Time – Jeffrey Zoul

Teacher Observations

  • Jeff provides written responses under three headings. 1) Does the teacher design quality knowledge work that actively engages students. He observes the students as much as the teacher. 2) Does the teacher manage time, people, space, assessment data, and technology. How does the teacher assess the learning? 3) Does the teacher monitor and adapt the work to achieve the desired results?
  • Jeff’s main goal is for teachers to analyze their own teaching while they measure its effectiveness, efficiency, and relevancy. He also encourages teachers to make any lecturing they do to sound like stories so that students don’t realized it’s a lecture.
