Improving Your School One Week at a Time – Jeffrey Zoul

Learning to Learn, Pick the Right Target, and Stay in the Present

  • A good teacher teaches students how to become their own teacher and to evaluate their own learning.
  • Whether you teach algebra or kindergarten, you need to make sure your objectives are at or near the range of difficulty and level of complexity.
  • Stay in the present. Mark Twain once said, “I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.” Practice keeping your attention on the here and now and your efforts will pay greater dividends.
