Improving Your School One Week at a Time – Jeffrey Zoul

Effort – The Most Important Thing

  • This letter promotes the belief that all students have the ability to put forth effort and that effort, rather than innate ability, is what will make you smart. Teachers need to communicate that they believe in each student and that they will not give up on them. The mantra also needs to communicate that the work you are doing is important and that you can do it. As for administrators, they need to believe in every teacher and help them find ways to work more intelligently and more efficiently.
