The Connected Educator – Book Summary

Put Relationships FIrst

  • Unlike traditional cultures where sharing pedagogical strategies is not well established, connected cultures focus on sharing. Since communications technology supports relationship building, collaboration can grow along with trust, common vision, and collegiality, which is a shared belief that none of us is as good as all of us. Indeed, the quality of a school is highly dependent on the quality of the relationships among the adults. The authors devote this chapter to helping schools and their leaders build quality relationships. It ends with an activity that uses Google Docs to share personal visions.
