School Mission Statements

• The bulk of this book (129 pages) is devoted to mission statements from schools categorized as follows: public elementary, public middle, public high, vocational/career/technical, magnet, charter, parochial, Waldorf, Montessori, Apple Computer schools of distinction, and award winning schools. The statements generally run a paragraph in length and each includes school size, demographics, location, poverty data, and contact information. Reading through these would be a good activity for any team working on a school mission prior to getting together.
