Weekly Projects

  • Why not make education a fun experience? For example, a popular science project that is easy to accomplish is the potato battery. You can embellish on this principal and have your child determine how many potatoes it would take to provide power to a flashlight or some other low voltage piece of equipment. Not only is the science behind the project entertaining, but you can exercise mathematical and reading skills as well. Any number of fun experiments can be completed with the use of Internet research and a few tools around the house. Did you know that lemons provide far more power than potatoes? We did after we got curious about the power of other food products.
