Social Media: It’s More than Just a Hang-Out by Ken Myers

Pinterest

  • If you love to draw or develop graphic designs, Pinterest is a great method to share your artwork. Although an image can be “repinned” by others in order to show artwork that is favorable by a fan, the original information and links remain with it promoting your additional artwork. Pinterest can be used as a way to promote a portfolio of your artwork if you’re trying to get a foot in the door for graphic design. Pinterest is another one of those social sites that can be tied into other methods of marketing yourself. Whether it is Facebook or your WordPress blog, your images can be shared in various ways in order to improve yourself by accepting the critiques of others. Just be aware that some people are going to “troll” you for no other reason than to do so. Don’t read too much into hateful posts for they are usually the work of individuals who are unhappy in their own life and want to make everyone as miserable as they are. Even if you aren’t an artist, you can still set up a Pinterest page to link to whatever you create.
