  • All disorders which are diagnosed subjectively run the risk of both over- and under-diagnosis, particularly in children. When this is paired with a multi-billion dollar industry and the potential for a diagnosis to improve both behavior and school performance in children, the seeds of trouble have been sown. This is the situation we find ourselves in with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD, and some alarming new research is beginning to confirm what doctors and teachers have been saying for years: we’re medicating our children to cover up the failures of our culture and school system.
