Picking Great Teachers

  • You should feel respect, admiration, and maybe a sliver of fear. The person should watch you closely, be action-oriented, and be honest even if the truth hurts a bit. You aren’t looking for a buddy or a parent. They should give clear, short directions and enjoy teaching fundamentals (hard skills). If all else is equal, the older person is probably the best bet.
