9. Fit It All Together

  • Make sure the change matters. People resist change for the sake of change. People only have so much time and energy. The change also needs to be a good fit for your school. Be willing to discontinue efforts that are not going well. Focus on improving not changing. If you are new in a leadership role, let people know right away what your vision is for improvement. Build good relationships before you need them and include support staff when possible. Combine all of the strategies described here, mixing and matching to adjust to your particular situation.
