The Click Moment by Frans Johansson

Harnessing Complex Forces

  • In order to harness complex forces you have to do something, even if you aren’t sure where it will lead. (Kind of like my blog). When you start executing and tell people about it, you are exposed to complex forces that can pave the way for future success. When something surprising happens, be sure to look into it closely rather than ignoring it. Unfortunately, we often overlook or ignore results we didn’t expect. Look for any success that feeds on itself. If you see evidence of success, consider investing more resources also known as doubling down.
  • Pay attention when you see people volunteer to spend time on something without compensation. When you see surprising behaviors, take note of the intensity. If you are involved in multiple initiatives, you many have to end your involvement in some if one starts to take off. Venture capitalists expect an 80% failure rate.
