  • There have long been many stereotypes about gamers, but one that should have been done away with by now is that of the solitary gamer, playing alone with no social life. Most video games today are either multiplayer, where gamers can play up to four at a time on the same gaming console, or online multiplayer, where anywhere from two to thousands of players are all cooperatively playing together. The interaction that takes place in games for people of all ages has a social aspect. Many schools have gamer clubs that bring people together socially. In some cases, college teams even travel to competitions.
