So You Want to be a Landscape Architect? by Tony Palmer

Nature of Work/People Skills

  • Many landscape architects work with state of the art drafting and computer programs in comfortable office settings. However, their work often includes traveling to different sites for planning, supervision or conferences. They are also expected to relate well to staff, clients and other professionals in the building and design trades. Landscape architects often deal with a variety of clients on a regular basis. These customers can include home and business owners, city and town personnel, planning boards and garden and building contractors. In addition, some of them work with the general public by offering classes and workshops.
